Rod wrapping tool
The rod wrapping tool is a kind of double easel on which you will place your blank and hold your spools of thread.
It consists of a main board from 50 to 60 cm long and 20 cm wide, which will set two boards from 20 to 25 cm high and 15 cm wide. These last two boards have a V-shaped notch on their top to allow the smooth running of the blank. This notch is covered with felt or carpet to avoid scratching the blank.
It is important to establish a system for one of the two easels can be set closer to each other, which is very useful when tying the ends of the blank. In our example, we drilled a rail in the tray and set it in a rail bracket that holds the vertical easel.
It's then necessary to provide a series of threaded rods with 5 mm diameter and some spring washers to maintain the coils, and a certain tension in the thread.
Finally there is a rail with a ring to make a return pulley between the blank and the spool. In our building we recycled a curtain rail.
